Introduction

Odyssey Online is a resource to support the use of museum objects in your classroom. It was developed by the Michael C. Carlos Museum of Emory University, the Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester, and the Dallas Museum of Art and features objects from their collections. The Middle and Elementary School Site provides content for your students. In this Teacher Resource Site you will find a range of materials to help you with some of the following:

  • Need a little guidance getting started with the Internet in your classroom or just want to be sure you are clear on the technical needs for using Odyssey Online? Check out Getting Started!

  • Looking for ways to integrate art into your social studies curriculum or to help your students develop critical thinking skills as they analyze works of art? Explore Teaching with Works of Art.

  • Where can you find lesson plans and other ideas for using Odyssey Online with your students? Go to the Lesson Library.

  • You've explored world cultures through the objects on Odyssey Online, but now you and your students want to learn more? Find additional Web site links and bibliography in Web Sites and Books.
