PLU Courses for TeachersSummer Teacher Institute: Ancient Rome: History, Mythology and Art
Beginning with Octavian's acceptance of the title "Augustus" in 27 BC, this course will take you through the expansion of the empire, as Rome became the center of the Western World. Teachers will have the opportunity to hear from Emory faculty, Carlos Museum curators, and work with education staff and guest artists as we explore Roman history, sculpture and architecture, the role of women and the family in Roman life, and the Aeneid as the foundational myth and nationalistic epic that tied Rome to the legends of Troy. $85/members; $125/non-members To register, call Julie Green at 404-727-2363 or email jgree09@emory.edu
