Introduction:

• The students shall understand the influence of the individual on historical and cultural events.
• The students shall know the locations and geographic features of these regions.
• The students shall understand the effects of the levels of technology.
• The students shall use primary and secondary sources including artwork.

History:

• 6.2 Student understands the contributions of individuals and groups from various cultures to selected historical and contemporary societies.

Geography:

• 6.4 Student understands the characteristics and relative locations of major historical and contemporary societies.
• 6.5 Student understands how geographic factors influence the economic development, political relationships, and policies of societies.
• 6.7 Student understands the impact of interactions between people and the physical environment on the development of places and regions.

Culture:

• 6.15 Student understands the similarities and the differences within and among cultures in different societies.
