Sickle
Sickle

People learned to make this farming tool (called a sickle) for cutting grain. They attached sharp blades of flint or other stone to handles of wood or bone. Later, as metal became cheaper to produce, the blades were often made of metal. Farmers in some parts of the world still use sickles to cut grains or grass.
