The following are two different audio solutions for our Odyssey Online pronunciation guide (a third, Shockwave, is currently under development):
Thebes

Thebes (8K) ,
(Java - 8.012 kHz, mono, 8-bit, mulaw encoded)

Thebes (23K) ,
(QuickTime - 22.050 kHz, mono, 8-bit, no encoding)

Cleopatra

Cleopatra (7K) ,
(Java - 8.012 kHz, mono, 8-bit mulaw encoded)

Cleopatra (23K) ,
(QuickTime - 22.050 kHz, mono, 8-bit, no encoding)

Notes on Java: The animated audio icon will only work with Java in versions of Netscape 4.0. Earlier browsers will allow for a still image. Java doesn't need a plug in. The audio only works in a really low-end format.

Notes on QuickTime: QuickTime allows for different levels of audio quality. QuickTime doen't let you click on an icon, you need to use their buttons. QuickTime requires a plugin which only works on Macintosh & Windows machines (no Unix, etc.).
