Members of the Docent Guild participate in an extensive program of study that includes attendance in Emory University's Art History 101 class, in-gallery sessions with Emory faculty and Museum curators, and object-centered learning sessions with Museum staff. Once docent candidates have completed their initial training they continue to attend training sessions on the collection and special exhibitions that take place on select Mondays. Docents commit to giving two tours on a selected day, Tuesday through Friday, three times a month.
A new docent class will be trained in the fall of 2017. If you would like more information about the Docent Guild at the Carlos, please contact Clare Fitzgerald by email or at 404.727.2363.
