Conservator Renee Stein in the lab

Chief Conservator Renée Stein, in the Parsons Conservation Laboratory, was joined by Kaitlyn Wright and Anna Connolly.

While the museum has been closed to the public, conservators in the Parsons Conservation Lab have been working to ready a number of objects for display, participating in virtual tours, and teaching university classes through the use of a “lab cam.”

Join Carlos conservators from the lab via Zoom to learn about their recent projects. Mellon Advanced Conservation Fellow Kaitlyn Wright will share observations from her examination, analysis, and treatment of ancient silver objects from the Greek and Roman collection. Chief Conservator Renée Stein will describe her plans to prepare a Dan Poro mask for installation. Undergraduate art history major Anna Connolly will talk about her treatment of a Middle Kingdom model of a cow from the Senusret Collection.
