Closed for university holidays.

Visitor Notifications: 

  • Please note, the African gallery will be closed for an installation from Wednesday, January 12 until Sunday, January 23, 2022.

Admission

$8 Adults
$6 Seniors, students, and children (ages 6-17)
Free Carlos Museum members; Emory University students, faculty, and staff (with Emory ID); children ages 5 and under
$2 Audio guide rental

Visit for free on a Sunday FUNday, by using the Georgia Public Libraries Family Pass, or by becoming a member. Please note, reservations are still required even if you are receiving free admission.

 

Bookshop Hours

The Museum Bookshop is processing sales by mail order for curbside pickup or shipment.

Information Desk Check-in

With the exception of necessary medical equipment, please check all large bags, backpacks of any size, umbrellas, and bags or purses larger than 13 x 13 inches at the information desk on Level One. The museum is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Public Tours

Public tours will be offered every Saturday and Sunday at 2 PM, excluding university holidays.
Meet at the admission desk on level one to join the tour.

COVID Precautions 


We are pleased to welcome you back to the Michael C. Carlos Museum!
Your health and safety remain our top priorities as we reopen in accordance with the guidelines of Emory University. Please read below about the safety precautions we have instituted to keep our visitors safe.  

  • Face coverings are required of visitors and museum staff. Face coverings must cover the nose and mouth. Children over the age of two are required to wear a face-covering in the museum.

  • Hand sanitation stations have been placed on all levels of the museum.

  • Plexiglass shields have been installed at all information desks and cashier stations.

  • The museum is cleaned and sanitized continuously and misted daily to disinfect all public spaces.

  • Usage of audio guides, as well as iPads within the galleries, has been temporarily suspended. SmARTy Pack activities have been adapted with single-use materials and are available for check out at the reception desk.
