Thank you for participating in the AAM Social Impact Study at the Michael C. Carlos Museum.
Your involvement helps us better understand our impact and how we can best serve our community.
Below, you’ll find answers to frequently asked questions. For any additional questions or needs, feel free to contact us at info.carlos@emory.edu.
- Participant recruitment: Open through May 15, 2025.
- Notification of acceptance to study: continual updates, expected an email from a team member within 2 weeks of submitting your application.
- Study open period: From April 1 to August 30, 2025.
Each participant is asked to visit the Michael C. Carlos Museum three times during the study period with a friend or family member and then complete the digital social impact survey. The survey will take approximately 30 minutes to complete and will be emailed to you following your third visit. You will be asked about your museum experience and to respond to prompts that measure social impact.
To check-in for the study, please visit the Information Desk on Level One of the museum.
All selected participants should have received a digital membership card by email. Please show your digital card or provide your name to the desk representative and confirm your participation in the study.
You’ll then be checked in by scanning a QR code or by signing in on a paper form, depending on your preference or device availability. You can also self-check in through the form here.
We recommend parking at either the Fishburne Parking Deck (Visitor Level) or the Oxford Road Visitor Deck. You can view a full campus map of visitor parking here.
When you enter a parking deck:
- You’ll receive a parking ticket—please leave it in your car.
- At the museum, check in at the Information Desk on Level One.
- Show your digital membership card and let the staff know you’re part of the study.
- You’ll then scan a QR code to check in for each visit. If the QR code is not presented to you, please click here to check in digitally for your visit.
If visiting during paid parking hours on weekdays, request a parking voucher from the information desk on Level One.
When exiting the deck:
- Scan your original parking ticket.
- Then scan the museum-issued voucher.
Important: Do not place the validation sticker over the ticket barcode, as this may prevent it from scanning.
Free parking hours:
- Fishburne Deck: Free after 5 PM (Mon–Fri) and all day on weekends.
- Oxford Road Deck: Free after 7 PM (Mon–Fri) and all day on weekends.
Depending on your visit time, you may not need a voucher.
You will only complete the social impact survey one time, and it will be emailed to you approximately two weeks after your third and final visit as part of this project or when we close the study at the end of August, whichever comes first.
As a reminder, you and a guest receive free admission and a parking voucher for each visit.
For every visit you complete, you'll be entered into a special prize drawing to be held at the end of the study.
After completing the final survey, you’ll receive a 1-year family membership to the Carlos Museum, a Carlos Museum T-shirt, and an invitation to a behind-the-scenes tour scheduled for fall 2025.
We understand life events happen. If you were able to visit the museum at least one time, our team will send you a link to the social impact survey. Please contact a team member.
